Hancock High School invites veterans to lunch and a Veterans’ Day ceremony

The Upper Peninsula has a very high concentration of military veterans. It’s a point of pride for the region’s communities, who each honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice at honor rolls and memorial statues and parks. On Monday though the Copper Country will come together to honor living veterans during Veterans’ Day. Hancock Public Schools has put out a call for veterans in the area to attend the district’s Veterans’ Day ceremony. The event will include music from the Hancock Band, lunch with students and staff, and a guest presentation from Kevin Meyers. During the Veterans Day ceremony at Hancock High School, the school will also collect donations for Operation Copper Country Active Duty to send gifts to service members on active duty. The ceremony will begin at 11 am.
