Hancock Fire Damages Apartments

The State Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate the cause of an early morning fire in West Hancock. The alarm was sounded just after 3:00 at an apartment in the 1500 block of Anthony Street. Firefighters from Hancock and Houghton battled the blaze, which burned through the roof of the structure. No injuries were reported. Officials at Michigan Tech say the fire displaced several of their students, along with a faculty member and his family. They are being housed temporarily at Wadsworth Hall.
