Hancock City Council meeting Wednesday

Realtor Kristine Weidner will be named the listing agent for 13 unsold Spruce Haven neighborhood lots in Hancock at Wednesday night’s council meeting. City Manager Mary Babcock says that it will be the first time in six years the properties have been on the market in an official capacity. Twelve were sold in the past by the Wickley Agency when it still had a real estate operation. The properties already have utility infrastructure in place and development could begin quickly. Hancock is hoping to use funds from the sales to begin prepping other land zoned residential for development.

Additionally, the council is accepting a Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant agreement for work to be completed at the fire station. Babcock says the generator should ensure smoother department operations.

This is a generator grant that will be placed up by the fire hall. They’ve had issues in the past where they were called out and there was no power and they couldn’t get their doors up. So, this is a grant we applied for through….I do believe it was FEMA related.

The meeting begins at 6:00 PM.
