H-STEM Complex and Alumni Gateway Nearly Complete

Construction projects on Michigan Tech’s Campus are nearly complete. During the past year, the university has been hard at work with contractors erecting the new H-STEM Complex and an Alumni Gateway on the west end of campus.

Michigan Tech facilities management says that the H-STEM building is on schedule to complete work in December. Crews have begun work to complete exterior sidewalks as well as installing the last panes of glass for an exterior glass wall. Additionally, workers are completing paintwork and flooring installations inside the complex. After the start of the new calendar year, crews will test the building’s HVAC and electrical systems. As well as begin installing classroom equipment like furniture and audio/visual systems.

The alumni gateway has been nearly completed. Michigan Tech says that it is waiting for a limestone delivery before crews can complete stonework. A section of the new sidewalk in the area has been opened to public use and should fully open early next month.
