Lack of water out west once again is threatening the safety of the great lakes. Tomorrow night author Dave Dempsey will speak before the upper peninsula environmental coalition in a online seminar. Dempsey will discuss issues that deal with fresh water commercialization, curbing the impacts to the great lakes compact and limiting the share of the great lakes in a humanitarian disaster. Since 1982, Dempsey has involved himself in policy making with positions in various Michigan environmental groups. Today he works as a policy advisor to for the love of water, also known as flow. Tomorrow night’s seminar can be found on UPEC’s facebook page starting at 8 pm.
