Grant Funds for Preservation and Interpretation are Available with the Keweenaw National Historic Park Advisory Commission

The Keweenaw National Historic Park Advisory Commission wants to help the community preserve historic interpretation opportunities. The park’s advisory commission has begun to accept applications for the 2024 Keweenaw Heritage Grant program. Grant funds awarded through the program help local partners preserve and interpret resources related to the region’s history of copper mining. In 2024 the Keweenaw Heritage Grant program will support a minimum of 11500 dollars in preservation and interpretive projects. Grantees are expected to provide 1 to 1 matching funds for projects. Grant awards typically range between 1,000 to 5,000 dollars per project. The Keweenaw National Historic Park Advisory Commission Keweenaw Heritage grant program application portal will close on March 29th. The park’s Advisory Commission anticipates awarding grant funds during May. Find more details here.
