Governor Gretchen Whitmer has added six Upper Peninsula counties to the flooding state of emergency. Alger, Baraga, Dickinson, Iron, Marquette, and Ontonagon counties have also experienced rapid snowmelt, causing flooding in some areas. Impacted counties have experienced severe serious damage caused by widespread flooding; including overwhelmed sewer and storm water systems, burst earthen dams, culvert and embankment failures, silt and debris deposits, and road washouts and closures. Residents are asked to report any and all flood related damage to homes and businesses throughout the region.
