Going to the end of the road

US-41 will have some extra traffic on it Saturday as the End of the Road Car Show travels up the Keweenaw from Calumet to Copper Harbor. A police escort gets participants to Phoenix where they will turn left on M-26 and pass through Eagle River and Eagle Harbor.

Those interested in checking out the chrome and V-8’s can take a peek under the hood at Campioni’s True Value Hardware between 10:00 AM and noon. John Cima says the standard definition for a classic car is one that is at least 25 years old. That restriction is not in place for this show.

We have classes for every car that you could bring there. We have a class for a brand new Corvette if you want to bring it. Any car that you want to bring, we probably have a class for you. So, this isn’t a classic car show, it’s just a car show.

Still, most do meet the bill, and very few are used for daily commuting. Visitors will get to see metal meant to be shown off. Most of the viewing opportunities will come in Copper Harbor as the vehicles line the main stretch.

Proceeds from the show go towards Keweenaw Random Acts of Kindness.
