Glide and Gorge to Highlight the Quincy Trail and Swedetown Gorge

The 15th annual glide and Gorge takes place this weekend as well. This year’s event will celebrate the Maasto Hiihto trail system, and will include a journey highlighting the Swedetown Gorge. Racers will start at the Four season chalet, near the northwest corner of the Houghton County Fair Grounds. The Glide and Gorge encourages attendees to bring their skis, snowshoes, or snow bikes, and bring the entire family for a fun day in the Keweenaw. Attendees will follow the Quincy Trail, which is about 3.8 miles long. And watch for the first appetizer station on the trail, just after crossing Hodges Road. Then take a left on the trail, and stop for some soup and bread at the pedestrian bridge over Swedetown Creek. The Glide and Gorge will cost 25 dollars on the day of the event. The Glide and Gorge to celebrate the Maasto Hiihto trails, will begin tomorrow at 12 noon, and will end at 3 pm.

Pre-register for the Glide and Gorge on the Keweenaw Nordic Ski Club’s website.
