Giving Tuesday Returns to the Copper Country to Support Several Causes and Programs in the Region

The big day has arrived, and the community’s generosity will flow to the Copper Shores and Non-profits of the Copper Country. Today is the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation’s Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign. Throughout the month the area has already begun to donate hard-earned dollars, that will work even harder to support the Keweenaw Peninsula’s health and strong communities.

“It makes it a lot more fun to see another notification go off. Because another donation has come in. And it’s fun to see another donation because each of those donations means another dollar to support these causes in our community. What that means is another meal is going out to a senior. Another child can be served and join a lesson or a class that’ll make them a better person. So this money is not just money, it’s allowing all of this programming to take place, and make our community a more healthful place.” – Michael Babcock, Director of Donor Relations, Copper Shores Community Health Foundation

Alongside this year’s 30 non-profits that will benefit from Giving Tuesday, generosity includes four of the Foundation’s programs. Outreach and Education, Victim Support, Meals on Wheels, and Bridges each support different demographics in the community, to empower strength and create healthy lifestyles.

“Our non-profits will be there. And we are gonna be there to celebrate and have some fun together. We’re just going to enjoy the moment. Because this isn’t just happening here. Giving Tuesday is a global movement, and today is going to be a special day to celebrate.”– Michael Babcock, Director of Donor Relations, Copper Shores Community Health Foundation

Those interested in joining the non-profits and the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation can join the fun at the Copper Country Mall. Throughout the day non-profits will be participating in media opportunities and will meet the residents compelled to support them.
