Giving Tuesday Non-Profit Spotlight: New Power Tour

New Power Tour joins Giving Tuesday for the first time in 2023. Executive Director Melissa Davis say that the non-profit was very excited to learn they were picked to join the many local non-profit organization to benefit from the Copper Shores Day of Giving. Adding that the funds raised will help the organization reach more homeowners in the region and help make energy upgrades to homes.

“We also help people insulate their houses. We show homeowners how to do some really easy work to help in their basements. And we are working with WUPPDR on a program called MIHOPE. Which will help people replace things like roofs, windows, and insulation. Basically helping homeowners get through better winters.” Melissa Davis, Executive Director, New Power Tour

New Power Tour Executive Director Melissa Davis says that New Power Tour also has a mission to promote the community’s entrepreneurial spirit. Which New Power Tour does through the Saturday Store.

“We have a little micro incubator. Which is a place that helps support the launch of small businesses. And we are really excited about that. We have a physical location, at 422 Quincy Avenue. It is open on Saturdays, it’s called the Saturday store. And there are several products we are helping to roll out. But we are straying with the bakery. So that’s all very exciting to be doing, along with all of the HVAC stuff.”
