Fourth of July preparations underway

Traditional Independence Day celebrations are gearing up after a hiatus in 2020. Lake Linden has fireworks at dusk on Friday, July 2nd, followed by a parade the next morning. It doesn’t stop at the village limit, though, with the route snaking down M-26 to Hubbell, Tamarack City, and then onto Dollar Bay as well.

Jerry Schmidt from the Hubbell-Tamarack City Fire Department runs down some of the activities happening later on that Saturday.

There will be food and games, fun for young and old at the Tamarack City Park starting at one o’clock. Also in the Hubbell Park, again at one o-clock in the afternoon.

South Range features a parade and fireworks show on July 4th proper. A flea market starts things off early on that Sunday morning. Just added are tours and beer tasting with the Keweenaw Brewing Company.

The Ahmeek Fire Department is hosting a fundraiser with plenty of fun at Gabriel Chopp Park between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Live music by the Wingnuts and bingo are both sure to draw a crowd.
