A teen was found safe over the weekend after his family called in law enforcement to help in a search Friday night.
According to the Forsyth Township Police Department, a family living near County Road 565 in the township called for help around 6:30 p.m. asking for help to find their 15-year-old son who had gone for a walk and hadn’t returned.
The release did not say when the teen originally left home, but by the time they called, the family said they had already checked the immediate area and were growing concerned.
As it grew darker and colder, Forsyth police called on the Marquette County Special Operations Division, Search & Rescue, and local firefighters to help expand the search.
Search and rescue teams from Alger, Delta, Baraga and Houghton were also dispatched to help.
The combined teams used K-9 search dogs, heat vision-equipped drones, off-road vehicles, and ground crews through the night.
At about 8:45 a.m., Forsyth police say the teen was found in good health about six miles from home.
