Michigan Technological University will bring back a familiar face to lead the campus’ Office of Diversity and Inclusion. After the recent promotion of Kelli Raffaelli to Dean of Student Affairs, Michigan Tech sought the help of former Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion Wayne Gersie. Gersie had left Michigan Tech several months ago to pursue an opportunity at Quinnipiac University. However, he says that during his time away he felt a calling back to the Copper Country. Going further, he stated that he is grateful for the opportunity to return to Michigan Tech and further the office’s mission to advance knowledge, improve the quality of life, and foster respect for all individuals within the local, national, and global community. Find a copy of Gersie’s letter to the student body here.
