The first step to participating in local functions starts today. Submitting your vote to the ballot box. But there are more ways to get involved with how the community operates. Such as earning a seat on a city council. The city of Hancock will have five seats open on the council during the November election. Three seats represent each of the three wards within the city. Two other seats on the council represent At-Large members. Hancock requests persons interested in taking a leadership role within the city to contact the city office with questions or details for the application process. Additionally, Hancock will close applications for the council seats at 4 pm today. City Manager Mary Babcock did mention that the city needs at least one person from Ward Two to apply to join the council to fill the seat. Those interested in learning more about open city council positions available in November with the city of Hancock can find more details and contact information below.
