The Lake Linden-Hubbell Sportsmen’s Association is hosting the 47th annual Rice Lake Fishing Derby this Sunday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Due to COVID there will be no raffles or concessions this year, but the rest of the event is set to go on as normal. That includes the silent auction.
Registration can be done on Saturday evening beginning at 6:00 PM or same-day. Fees are nominal, from $5.00 for adults to just $1.00 for children. Prizes will be given away for walleye and northern pike catches. The top prize in each category is $300 for largest fish. The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a $200 second prize.
Rice Lake is 675 acres in size and located near the Lake Superior shoreline east of Lake Linden.
