Finlanida University plans to expand their course offerings for a unique academic program at the school. This coming spring semester the university will offer two classes, typically taught in the fall, from Finlandia’s Finnish and Nordic Studies degree program. Dr. Hilary-Joy Virtanen, a university associate professor and chair of the school’s Finnish and Nordic studies program, will lead the courses. Finlandia does hope to include Virtanen’s lectures online for students interested in auditing the classes, and discover their own curiosity about the Scandinavian country. The two courses the Finlandia plans to offer next semester are FNS 360, Kalevala, and FNS 221, History and Culture of Finland. Visit Finlandia.edu/admissions to learn more about the university and the academic programs they offer.
