Feeding America returns to the western Upper Peninsula next week. The national food supplier to those in need has made a number of trips to the Village of Ontonagon over the past couple of years thanks to the help of the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation and students with Ontonagon Area Schools.
Next Wednesday a Feeding America semi truck from the distributor’s west Michigan center will travel to the Onotonagon Village Fire Hall to disperse free food to those in need from the western Upper Peninsula. Attendees will not need to show proof of need to pick up a box of food at the distribution site.
Feeding America has also committed to returning to Ontonagon County again in October and November. Copper Shores and Feeding America are finalizing details for those future distribution sites.
Feeding America will visit Ontonagon’s village fire hall on September 6th. The semi truck arrives at 12 pm.
