With so much natural beauty around the Keweenaw Peninsula, one may forget from time to time about the crown jewel located in the middle of Lake Superior. Next week the Isle Royale National Park Headquarters will bring back Family Day for the Keweenaw Peninsula.
The event includes a no cost cruise aboard the Ranger III, with park rangers on deck to provide activities and educational excerpts about Lake Superior and Isle Royale. Family Day Aboard the Ranger III is a very popular event, and as much as the national park wishes they could bring along everybody. There is limited space aboard the ship, requiring attendees to Family Day to pre-register for the event. There are two cruise times to pick between, one that will leave that dock at 11 am and a second launching at 2 pm.
