A fantastic event that brings hundreds of people to Calumet needs fantastic art. On Wednesday CopperDog shared the race’s 2025 poster contest’s winning design. Each year the sled dog race organizes an art competition for the local copper country kids. This year’s contest winter Elise Grentz designed a poster featuring a single team racing over a flat field of snow, with the rolling cliffs of the Keweenaw Peninsula filling the background.
The poster contest artwork has been used on various promotional materials in past years. And features on VIP and volunteer passes during the weekend. Grentz will also join the Copper Country at the start of the CopperDog weekend in Calumet, where she’ll be presented with a commemorative letter and souvenirs from race officials.
