The Copper Country Intermediate School District is celebrating what it terms Educator Appreciation Week. Superintendent George Stockero says he prefers that title to Teacher Appreciation Week because it better highlights the role that all staff have in preparing students for the future.
Stockero says the district has been hard at work creating surprise presents.
He says the trials of the past year make it more important than ever to acknowledge staff across the area. The pandemic has defined Stockero’s final 15 months as superintendent of the CCISD. The first attempt to find a successor ended in a deadlock, with one voter out of town on vacation. The full board will be present Friday morning for a special meeting to make a selection.
