Michigan Tech University will begin construction work for the newest addition of residential space on campus. Construction will take place in the former Lot 10 located east of the Rozsa Center. Starting today crews will begin to set up temporary roadways and pathways. Pedestrian traffic is limited to the existing sidewalk along Cliff Drive, while fencing is erected around the construction site. Later in the week crews will begin to demolish the parking lot. Weather permitting the university anticipates he foundation construction will take place in November and December. Construction will resume in the spring of 2024 with paving striping and other work at the new seventh avenue parking lot. Construction of the parking lot should finish by the end of May 2024. Michigan Tech anticipates the new East Hall dorm will open for the fall 2025 semester.
