Tomorrow is the last day for early registration for the Great Lakes Symposium. The June environmental advocacy event is hosted by Michigan Tech and will be facilitated by the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. The goal of the Great Lakes Symposium is to bring together leaders, educators and experts to offer solutions to the challenges these great lakes face. Among those invited to event are U-S senators and representatives, mayors from each of the large cities located on the lakes, and state governors from the region. The guest speaker lineup is headlined by Heather Young, Philomena Kebec, Nancy Langston and members of KBIC’s Tribal Council. Topics for this year range from environment, economy of the lakes, and keeping water clean. The event is June 1st through the 4th.
