The Superior Health Foundation has added two new members to their board of directors, bring the total to 14 representatives. The two most recent additions made during their January meeting are David Jahn and Fredi de Yampert. Representing Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw counties will be Dr. Fredi de Yampert. She is currently Finlandia University’s vice president of academic affairs, and dean of the college of health sciences. De Yampert earned her doctoral degree in education from Capella University. Her master degree in nursing and nursing education was earned during de Yampert’s time at Saint Joseph’s College, and her bachelor degree from the University of Texas El Paso. De Yampert expressed that she is excited for the opportunity to work with the Superior Health Foundation, and how they can address the unique health care issues facing the upper peninsula. David Jahn will represent Chippewa, Luce, and Mackinaw counties with the Superior Health Foundation. The Superior Health Foundation distribute grant funding to various upper peninsula non profit organizations addressing unmet health care needs in the region.
