Dollar Bay – Tamarack City gets therapy dog

The Dollar Bay – Tamarack City School District has a brand new puppy. Bolt is an English Cream Goldendoodle and, at just nine weeks old, still very much in the training stages of becoming a therapy dog.

Bolt was donated to the district by Steve and Marsha Daniels, who are breeders locally. A check of their Facebook page shows that they offer a mix of poodles, goldendoodles, and labradoodles to homes across Wisconsin and Michigan.

According to the American Kennel Club, standard poodles grow up to 70 pounds and around 15 inches when standing on all fours. They are considered great family pets and are excellent around children. Although offshoots like the goldendoodle, a mix of a poodle and golden retriever, have become increasingly popular in recent years, the AKC does not officially recognize the breed, and does not provide information about it.
