Dial Help’s Teen Outreach Program offers a time and place for teens to build life skills, and healthy relationships. The teen outreach program in the local area was developed by Dial Help and the group Houghton Keweenaw Communities That Care, and research has shown that such program help develops resiliency skills and reduces teen drug use in areas. The Teen Outreach Program or TOP Club, is completely free to the community. The group holds a weekly meeting, community service programs, and lessons on topics such as goal setting, managing emotions, problem solving, and teen health and wellness. TOP Club typical works with kids in the community between ages 11 and 14, and welcomes high school volunteers. The TOP Club program works with schools in; Calumet, Chassell, Dollar Bay, Ewen-Trout Creek, Hancock, Houghton, and Lake Linden schools. The largest group within TOP Club is their Houghton group.
