Houghton High School and middle school students excel at the 2024 National Cyber League competition. CyberHusky, made up of Houghton High School and Middle School Students is led by Michigan Tech Professor Yu Cai. He says that he’s proud and pleasantly surprised by how well the students did in both team and individual competitions, for their dedication, hard work, and self motivation. CyberHusky split the group of students into three teams, with each earning ranks among the top 51 teams in the county.
In individual competitions two students placed in the top 100 for High school. In total CyberHusky has eight students ranked among the top 150 nationally. Cai says that the high school students’ work was very impressive, even scoring on par with Michigan Tech University’s team made of College of Computing students that competed against other colleges and universities. During the NCL competition college and High school students take on the same challenges.
