Culvert Replacement Work Begins Wednesday on Tapiola Road

The Houghton County Road Commission will close a section of Tapiola Road starting Wednesday for road Infrastructure work. Starting on Wednesday, the road commission will close traffic on Tapiola Road from Chassell-Painesdale Road to Old Road. The commission will have crews in place to replace 10 culverts as a part of a resurfacing project. The road commission expects work will last for approximately three weeks. A detour for travelers will redirect traffic to Lake Avenue North and Pike River Road. Residents living along the stretch of road on construction will have access to the homes but are asked to use the detour when possible, depending on where work is taking place about their home. Anyone with questions about the Tapiola road culvert and resurfacing work should contact the Houghton County Road Commission at 906 482 3600 with any questions.
