CTE Construction and Technology Students Complete Tiny House Proejct

The CCISD CTE Construction and Technology Students are at it again. Developing and furthering their skills with business and construction tools. Recently the Construction and Technology program completed work on a tiny house project that will go up for auction. After a two-year process that included CAD designs, analysis, and construction, the program’s students and staff are proud to share the project with the community. The Tiny home on display across from the CCISD Career Tech Center features spacious rooms across 160 square feet. Additionally, the project includes black asphalt roofing, local pine exterior siding, tongue and groove cedar inside paneling, a 50 amp electricity capacity, and a carpeted loft that can fit a queen-sized bed. Copper Country ISD CTE Students Build Tiny Home for Silent Auction

The Copper Country Intermediate School District (CCISD) Career and Technical Education (CTE) Construction Technology program students and staff have designed and built a beautiful tiny home.  This two-year design and build project is now available for the community to purchase via silent auction. 

After two years of analysis, CAD design, and construction, the CTE Construction students have built a stunning tiny home from the trailer up. The project is student-led with support from CTE instructors.

The silent auction will conclude at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 14, 2024. The tiny home must be moved by the end of the day on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the winning bidder’s expense and arrangements. The tiny home is on display in the staff parking lot adjacent to the CCISD Career Tech Center (behind the old Sounds & Motion building and across from the La Cantina Restaurant) at 110 E. Quincy Street in downtown Hancock. Please be aware that the buyer is responsible for all costs, insurance, and compliance with laws/regulations related to the transportation of the building.

Tiny Home Features:

  • Building exterior size: 8 ft x 20 ft x approximately 13 ft 4 in high

  • Includes removable treated exterior staircase

  • Factory built and tiny home approved tandem axle tow behind trailer

  • 2×4 wall construction, 2×6 roof/ceiling construction, 2×4 floor system with galvanized panning underneath with spray foam insulation throughout including all plumbing for cold climates

  • Black asphalt architectural roofing

  • Local pine exterior siding stained blue

  • Tongue and groove cedar paneling throughout the interior

  • 50 amp electrical service with 50’ extension cord included

  • Propane gas appliances include Rinnai direct vent heater, gas range, gas hot water heater

  • Kitchen cabinets are custom built with soft close hinges

  • Bathroom includes toilet, vanity, and shower

  • Loft is carpeted and ready for a queen bed surrounded by a custom welded railing system;  main floor is gray woodgrain luxury vinyl flooring

  • Plenty of storage built into stairs, under the couch, and cabinetry

  • Couch pulls out for additional sleeping, additional counter mounted on drawer in kitchen for table use

Note: Tiny House follows the International Building Code and was inspected and approved by NOAH Certified (https://noahcertified.org). All stages of construction were inspected and approved. Documentation and certification will be provided.
