Twice this summer, American Queen Voyages is bringing its Ocean Navigator cruise ship to Houghton.
The first docking will take place this Thursday. It will enter the Canal at about 8 am, and dock at 8:30 before leaving at 5pm.
Please keep in mind this may affect commuters.
Passengers on the Ocean Navigator will enjoy the Houghton Waterfront on Thursday and can explore the city. They will also visit the Quincy Mine, the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and the Carnegie Museum of the Keweenaw.
The ship was constructed in 2001 and then refurbished in 2019. It has 5 decks and can accommodate just over 200 guests. There are 84 crew members that man the ship on its journey on Lake Superior. The ship visits Houghton as part of a Chicago roundtrip.
