Crews work quickly to contain Boston Road fire

Just before noon on Friday, Houghton County Sheriff deputies were called out to a vehicle fire on Boston Road in Franklin Township. They were accompanied by Hancock City Police. When they reached the scene, the fire was beginning to spread into the nearby woods. Not one, but two vehicles were fully engulfed and are a total loss.

Luckily, the danger was able to be contained to the residential property where the cars were parked. Quincy/Franklin Fire was the lead responder, assisted by Dollar Bay and Calumet Township departments, as well as the DNR Forest Division based in Baraga.
