Copper World and Keweenaw Storytelling Center Earn Top Honors with Illuminate Calumet

While Christmas is over that doesn’t mean the spirit of the holidays will go away. Last Friday Main Street Calumet announced the winner of this year’s illuminate Calumet storefront decorating contest. The contest challenged businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community groups to decorate their physical locations for Christmas in Calumet during December. Copper World received the highest number of votes in the online competition taking home fan favorite. The judges picked Keweenaw Storytelling Center for Illuminate Calumet’s judged portion of the contest. Each business will receive prizes to help boost each business profile including a photoshoot with 2nd Sand Bar photography courtesy of Incredible Bank. Those interested can still check out the holiday lights hung up around the Laurium and Calumet area over the next few days. Main Street Calumet thanks all of the Laurium and Calumet groups who participated in this year’s Illuminate Calumet storefront decorating contest.
