The Copper Shores Community Health Foundation, previously known as Portage Health Foundation, is offering a scholarship program for non-traditional students.
The scholarship is a one time award, and will give 3 students $2,000 to pursue post-secondary education.
Individuals must be from the Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, or Ontonagon counties.
The student must write a cover letter and an accompanying essay in support of their application, and must be intending to seek post-secondary degree or certification. Other criteria includes that the individual must have at least a 2.5 GPA or be in good standing to a college or university, the student must be accepted for admission, not currently taking post-secondary classes, and at least one year post High School commencement or have a completed G.E.D.
