Copper Shores Community Health Foundation introduces a new way to impact Giving Tuesday in 2024

The month to give thanks will start at the end of the week. November leads up to families coming together on Thanksgiving. And Giving Tuesday, which has become a special occasion in the Copper Country over the past several years with the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation organizing a fundraising campaign with many regional nonprofit organizations.

In 2024 the foundation will introduce a new amplification fund, #GiveCopperCountry, that will offer the public an opportunity to donate to the Giving Tuesday match portion. The fund follows the same idea as the match in previous years, and will start with 200,000 dollars in the match fund. As November progresses individuals or organizations can donate to the #GiveCopperCountry amplification fund. The fund will then be split and dispersed to the Giving Tuesday nonprofits based on the percentage of funds the organization makes up as a part of the Giving Tuesday total.

Director of Communications Michael Babcock says that the organization has heard from nonprofits and donors the language for the match in years past has sometimes been confusing. Through the amplification fund, the foundation hopes to clarify how matching funds are dispersed and promote community involvement in Giving Tuesday.

Copper Shores Community Health Foundation will open the Giving Tuesday donation portal after November 12th, and will continue to accept donations until December 3rd.
