Copper Shores and Baraga County Memorial Hospital Expand the Avel eCare Program to Include Follow-Up Care

The Copper Shores Community Health Foundation and Barga County Memorial Hospital partnership add another layer to the Avel eCare wellness program. Recently the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation and the Baraga County Memorial Hospital announced that the clients using the Avel eCare mental health software for first responders will have access to the Copper Shores Safety Net program.

The safety net program with Copper Shores Outreach and Education works to help people with follow-up needs after experiencing a mental health crisis. After first responders make initial contact using the Avel eCar coordinator to de-escalate a situation, the coordinator can pass off client information to Copper Sohres outreach and education for community resource and follow-up care. BCMH social services coordinator Michelle Smith says that the community-based crisis care program continues to expand its services, even recently adding Ontonagon County to its range. The implementation of follow-up care only works to add another level of care to the next-day follow-ups with patients through the Copper Shores Safety Net Program.

Those interested in learning more about the expanded partnership between Copper Shores and BCMH for Avel eCare to include the Copper Shores Safety Net program to follow up after a mental health crisis can find more details here.
