Copper Country Shows Off American Pride on Fourth of July

Fourth of July in the Copper Country draws many families and visitors to quaint down towns. Yesterday’s celebrations started bright and early with South Range fire fighters, veterans and the Jeffers High School students raising the American flag at the South Range Fire Hall. Parades started soon after. First in Lake Linden before parade traveled to Hubbell then to Dollar Bay. All three included several floats with grand displays, such as a seaplane on a trailer, or Superior Service Towing with Detroit muscle on a tow truck, on top of a tow truck. The parades’ floats were broken up by the sounds of local high school marching bands. As well as some music provided by the Copper Country Clown band and from 97,7 the Wolf and K Bear 102.3. Later in the day kids in the south range joined that parade fun for the kids’ bike parade. Afternoon activities spread the summertime fun throughout the day into the evening. When residents and visitors all looked toward the sky for grand fireworks displays. Those who missed the fun yesterday find some photos below. As well as a list of some events in the western Upper Peninsula taking place tomorrow to celebrate the United States and the Fourth of July.
