Copper Country Recycling Initiative is Taking Old Tires

Editor’s Note; This event is not being sponsored by the CCRI. It is being sponsored by the Superior Watershed Partnership, Houghton County, and the Great Lakes Climate Corps. It is being paid for by an EGLE grant.

Old tires are difficult to get rid of. On Wednesday clean out the garage and find those tires, and drop them off at the Houghton County Solid Waste Transfer Station. The Copper Country Recycling Initiative is hosting the free recycling event. Those making drop offs are limited to recycling ten tires. The transfer station will not accept tractor tires, at the event on Wednesday. Copper Country Recycling Initiative’s event is sponsored by the Lake Superior Watershed Partnership and Land Conservancy, the department of Environment Great Lakes and Energy, Houghton County, and the Great Lake Climate Corps. Drop off old used tires at the County’s solid waste transfer station, from 9 am to 3 pm this Wednesday.
