Copper Country kids take in a show supported by Incredible Bank and the Rozsa Center

Halloween creates special memories for children around the country. Especially when the community offers opportunities to get dressed up, stay in character, and gain a little inspiration. This weekend The Rozsa Center offers its Class Acts program to copper country kids, with support from Incredible Bank. Schools sent close to 800 students to the theatre for Manuel Cinema’s performance of A wonderful show about a terrible monster. The stage performance includes a behind-the-scenes look at how stage productions turn into film.

The multimedia format of the show is really exciting because students can see how something is being made. And so usually you don’t get to see behind the scenes how your favorite program or art is being made. So that’s an exciting component. I know for me as a kid growing up in the area, I was really, I was inspired by coming to shows here at the Rosé Center and it made me want to be a performer. – Hannah Rundman-Lowney, Guest services coordinator, Rozsa Center

Incredible Bank Market Manager Jamie Theryeon says the bank was excited to help provide a family-friendly event to the community. She adds that kids will want to show parents the fun while enjoying other fun fall activities during the monster mash.

Costumes are welcome and we’ll have prizes and games. There’ll be cookie decorating and pumpkin decorating along with community partners that will be setting up activity stations such as slime making and spider making – Jamie Thyrion, Market Manager, Incredible Bank.

Manuel Cinema’s A Wonderful Story About a terrible monster tomorrow will have two programs at 10 am and 2 pm. From 11 to 2 pm, Class Acts will open the Rozsa Lobby to kids’ activities. After spending a fun-filled day at the Rozsa center many families may want to stop in Houghton for Treat Street. Those interested in learning more about Class Acts at the Rozsa Center or want to find ticket information for the performances tomorrow can find more details here.
