During tomorrow’s comedy night with the Copper Country Humane Society, the community will laugh and raise money for the animal shelter. Throughout the years CCHS has become known for its wonderful pets available for adoption. People who volunteer or work with the shelter love these dogs and cats. And while they might have fun during the time pets spend with CCHS, their staff are always happy to see another leave with a new family.
“Here it’s just a little more relaxed. When you have a chance and you want to visit the cats you can sign up to do that. Otherwise, you can come walk dogs whenever you get the chance, just during our open hours. We’ll have you fill out a liability form, take a look at the book over here. Let us know which dog you want to walk, otherwise you can grab somebody. We’re a lot more laid back than a lot of shelters. But that seems to work well for us.” – Rebecca Brink, Assistant Manager, Copper Country Humane Society
Volunteering with the shelter has also helped many people find a furry friend. Those interested in volunteering can contact the shelter for application details and more information. If you do not have the time to volunteer time with Copper Country Humane Society, the shelter regularly accepts donations. Or consider celebrating with the shelter tomorrow evening during Raise the Woof. Proceeds from the dinner and come show support operations and care for animals with CCHS.
