The New Year’s Baby has rung the bell and started 2025. A few weeks before the end of 2024, the Copper Country Great Start Collaborative started the organization’s annual Diaper Drive for the Baby Closet. The program works with parents to make sure they have diapers that fit their child, at no cost. CCGSC Director Iola Brubaker says the organization has several drop box locations around the Copper Country.
So the boxes are located throughout town. I know there’s one at Aspirus up in Laurium. There’s one at AutoPro Glass and Tire here in Houghton. There’s one at the Copper Country ISD. There’s also one right here at the Treehouse Indoor Playground. So families can purchase and drop off diapers there, but to make it easier, even easier this year, we also have the opportunity to visit KFRC’s Amazon Wishlist and you can go straight there and have them shipped straight to us. – Iola Brubaker, Director, Copper Country Great Start Collaborative
