Copper Country Curling Club keeps growing community by offering curling lessons

A new year can be a great time to pick up a new skill or activity. And why not try out a sport with a little local connection? On Saturday the Calumet Drill Shop will host a Learn to Curl event.

Calumet’s drill shop, a former site owned by the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company, became the home of the Copper Country Curling Club in 2005. The club was started in 1993. Since then it has taught many residents the sport and organized leagues to build the Copper Country’s curling community. Those interested in learning more about curling can join the CCCC at the Drill Shop on Saturday starting at 7 pm. Those course costs 20 dollars and will include two hours of instruction.
