Copper Country Community Arts Center Hosting the Next Upper Peninsula Arts and Culture Alliance Board Meeting and Reception Next Tuesday

Next Tuesday the Upper Peninsula Arts and Culture Alliance will host the second of its annual meetings in Hancock. The Upper Peninsula Arts and Culture Alliance works as a collaborative organization focused on fostering creativity, artists, performers, and audiences, about economic development, recreation, and tourism. The organization encompasses membership from all 15 Upper Peninsula counties, and in the last year has conducted extensive research to study the impact of arts and culture on tourism, recreation, and other industries. The group also works with the Michigan Arts and Cultural Council to distribute funds for arts and culture projects programs and installations throughout the region. Every three months the UP Arts and Culture Alliance hosts a reception with its public board meetings, rotating around the Upper Peninsula. Members and leadership encourage community involvement in the alliance and invite the community to the reception next week. The reception will begin at 5 pm next Tuesday at the Copper Country Community Arts Center in Hancock. Learn more about the arts and culture alliance here.
