UPDATE: Portage Lake District Library sends word that they have rescheduled the Paddle the Portage event to Thursday, June 24 due to the forecasted weather.
The Portage Lake District Library, Keweenaw Land Trust, and Michigan Tech’s Outdoor Adventure Program are teaming up to offer paddleboarding lessons Thursday afternoon. There are two separate groups, children ages 12 to 17 will launch around 3:30. Adults depart at 5:30.
Registration is required and can be done through the library’s website. All children will need a liability waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian and they must drop it off in person.
Since it is an outdoor event, bad weather could cause a postponement. The rain date is set for Thursday, June 24th.
