Michigan Technological University’s spring graduates will turn the page to a new chapter after Friday. This year’s commencement ceremony will include three speakers to guide the graduates as they take their first steps.
Chang Park, President and CEO of Universal Remote Control Incorporated will return to his alma mater to give the spring 2024 Keynote commencement address. Park graduated from Michigan Tech with a dual degree in Electrical engineering and engineering administration in 1973. His busy career led him to the University of Pennsylvania before working in New York Washington D.C., and Philadelphia. He has earned several honors from the university including an honorary doctor of philosophy and the Distinguished Alumni Award, as well as an induction into the Academy of Electrical Engineers.
Graduate Speaker Zazil Santzio Huerta earns a doctorate in discrete mathematics. She plans to teach at the university level in Los Angeles California following graduation.
Undergraduate spring commencement speaker Vincent Skylar Barfield has earned a dual bachelor of science in mathematics and computer science. He plans to pursue a career in Machine learning with his skills and knowledge after graduating.
