Canal Rock is just a week away from the first concert.
“Well, it’s part of our community, you know, our musicians are part of our community just like our local businesses are, right? We need to support our local musicians, our local farmers, our local businesses, so that we keep our economy vibrant.” – Todd Gast, Community Development for the Downtown Development Authority in the City of Hancock.
The event is family friendly and free. Families and individuals alike are welcome to bring a chair or picnic blanket and sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful view of the canal while listening to great music.
“Every event is going to be Fridays, from 6 until 9. There’s only two Fridays within our block of concert series that [won’t have concerts]. Bridgefest is the 16th, so we won’t have a concert then, and Key Ingredients, which is in Hancock, which is our food and music festival, on Quincy St. on Canal Run weekend. So Key Ingredents is the 14th of July, and there will not be a concert at Porvoo Park on that evening as well. We have Cheap Therapy, like I said, that are opening on the 9th, we have Under the Radar, and we have Rewind, and Uncle Pete’s BBQ Review, just to name a few.” – Todd Gast, Community Development for the Downtown Development Authority in the City of Hancock.
The concert series is Porvoo park in Hancock, from 6-9p.m.
