The Paulding teenager whose body was recovered Monday will be buried this weekend. A gofundme page set up initially to help defray search and rescue costs related to finding 17-year-old Cam Besonen will instead go towards his funeral. Close friends of the Besonen family are responsible for the drive, whose goal started out at $5,000. It is already over $15,000 as of Wednesday morning and will allow for one of the larger ceremonies in the region since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A public viewing is set from 10 AM to 12 PM Saturday with the funeral to follow at 1 PM. Due to restrictions, anyone who is planning on going is asked to pick one or the other, but not both. Information from the page suggests that those attending the funeral will have a visitation opportunity once the viewing has ended.
Everything will be held at Ewen-Trout Creek School. The funeral will be livestreamed on the Land O’ Lakes Bible Church Facebook page.
