Calumet starts another athletic gofundme

The bills are piling up for Calumet High School’s athletic department. A week after funding a five-day trip to the state championship game for its boys’ hockey program, another team is poised to make a run. The undefeated girls’ basketball squad already visited The Soo for a playoff win. Monday is a quarterfinal game in Houghton Lake.

Because of the shortened season due to delays in getting contact winter sports back on the court, the boys and girls tournaments are happening at the same time. For girls teams lucky enough to advance, that means more travel than normal. The semifinal round tips off at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids before the finals at the Breslin Center on the campus of Michigan State University.

You can find a link to the gofundme page here. The goal is to reach $10,000. The drive was set up by Calumet Athletic Director Sean Jacques.
