A section of the Bill Nicholas trail between Painesdale and South Range is temporarily closed according to the Keweenaw ATV Club. There is no re-route at this time. The trail is closed in order to protect a water main located near the trail, that could become damaged due to the soft ground following spring snow melt. And to ensure the safety of riders as there is unstable sands in the area too. Connections between trails in east and west Houghton County may be impacted by the trail closure. No word yet as to when the Bill Nicholas Trail will open back up. Keep track of trail conditions with the Keweenaw ATV Club’s website.
