Baraga County Prosecutor and defense attorneys ask the 97th district court to adjourn to allow more time for discovery

Three people accused of an assault in Three Lakes in November will have a preliminary exam moved to a later date.

Austin Conn, Alexis Hernandez, and Jeremy Vetter were arrested in connection to an assault, that involved a discharged firearm, in late November. All three were released on bond around that time and waived a probable cause hearing in December.

Today Baraga County prosecuting attorney Joseph O’Leary and the defendant’s representatives, David Gemingani, Matthew Eliason, and Brandon Rickard, asked district court judge Nicholas Daavettila for an adjournment. O’Leary says he and the defense would like more time for discovery, specifically for issues obtaining video camera footage.

The Baraga County 97th district court will resume the Conn, Hernandez, and Vetter case in three weeks.
