Baraga Communities That Care Hires New Program Coordinator

Baraga Communities that Care has a new coordinator. Tom Leeds, who will take over program coordination for the organization’s Baraga County services, comes to the area from Northern Wisconsin. Before that, he previously worked in upper management for retail division with Blockbuster, and the Walt Disney Corporation. After retirement, he says he felt a special connection to the mission of communities that care, through his experience losing his brother.

“I thought, this could be a really good fit, I could really help out. And I can give them my experience and stuff. With my professional life, and personal supporting an addicted brother. So I know what it is like to know someone on drugs, and what it is like to lose that person to drugs.” – Tom Leeds, Baraga County Communities that Care, Program Coordinator

The Baraga County Communities that Care program has plans to join in summer events with the Houghton Keweenaw Communities that Care, and has also planned to attend other more local events to Baraga County.
